Patiken, our Education driver, and my mother (up on a visit). Patiken from the Wosera, south of Maprik, drove briefly for General Macarthur in Port Moresby towards the end of the War. He also claimed to have gone as a young copper to London in 1953 to march in the coronation procession. My mother cadged rides with him round the sub-district and they got on well.
