Spam - Unsolicited Email  
 

If you are only receiving a few spam emails a day the best method of getting rid of them is to set a a message rule on your email program

Outlook Express :
Create a new folder in your Inbox called (your name)
Go to : Tools, Message Rules, Mail
Box 1 : Tick "where the To and CC contains people"
Box 3 : Click "contains people" in Box 3 and enter your email address
Box 2 : Tick "Move to folder"
Box 3 : Click "specified" and select (your name) folder
Click OK

All Mail specifically addressed to you will end up in (your name) folder and the rest in the Inbox. You may delete the email that is not specifically addressed to you.

INSTILLATION :

Go to your email program and the Tools/Options/under General tab and uncheck the boxes "Send and receive at startup" and "Check for new messages every "

Close your email program
Install Mail Washer
Click Tools, Options,

  • Tick Heuristic Strength - Strong,

  • Tick "Check origin against DNS blacklist servers"

Log into your ISP (go online)
Click Mail Washer - "Check Mail" and let it sought out the spam.

Check the ones it missed (this list will get shorter with use as it stores all the banned addresses)
Mail Washer will leave your legitimate email alone and only pick out the rubbish.

Click Process Mail After it has deleted all the spam it will open up you email program.
Click your email Send and Receive
